Building Houses, Building Hope
We have seen the incredible need in El Salvador of families living without adequate housing and struggling daily with the immense challenges of poverty. Families with young children living on dirt floors that become mud in rain season. Elderly folks who have never lived in a house where the roof didn't leak. And we have seen how a new home changes their lives and gives them hope for their future. By the grace of God, and thanks to the Shelter team, our teams have had the privilege and joy of working alongside these beautiful families, hearing their stories, and learning from their faith and resilience. Providing a dry, safe place to live is one of the most tangible, practical ways of showing God’s love, and in return we receive God’s love in a way we can’t explain. Through these experiences we have come to love the country and the people of El Salvador; and the mission of Shelter has worked its way into our hearts. We invite you to join our “community of builders”, building hope through providing homes, showing God’s love by showing up, and building the homes together with the families, local community and Shelter team.
